The 3rd Green Energy Summit, organized by the Energy Digitalisation Association (EDIDER), brought together key stakeholders to discuss Türkiye’s green transition, sustainability priorities and emerging carbon policies that will shape the country’s pathway to its 2053 Net Zero target.
As part of the summit, the Carbon Markets Session focused on the growing importance of carbon pricing in Türkiye, driven by the launch of the Türkiye Emissions Trading System (TR ETS) and its alignment with international carbon regulations. The session explored TR ETS scope and expansion plans, linkages with international carbon markets, carbon certificates and the opportunities created by voluntary markets for the industrial and energy sectors. Corporate carbon management strategies and financing approaches were also discussed through practical case studies.
APLUS Energy Consulting was represented by Managing Partner Volkan Yiğit, who shared insights on the development of carbon markets in Türkiye, the implications of the regulatory framework for corporate strategy, and the importance of carbon pricing for the energy sector.
